The Hifz App privacy policy
In short: we keep your account and your memorisation progress so the app can plan your lessons and revision. When you recite aloud, your voice is turned into words to check your recitation and is not saved. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
This policy covers The Hifz App for iPhone and Android, made by Zahab Services LLP (“we”, “us”).
What we collect, and why
- Your account: your email address and a password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; we cannot read it. We use your email to sign you in and to reply if you write to us.
- Your progress: the lessons you complete, your revisions, your streak, your level and your test results, including the words you missed. The app needs these to decide what you learn and revise next.
- Your voice, only while you recite in a test: when you start a recitation test, the app uses the microphone and sends the audio, while you recite, to a speech-recognition service that turns it into words. We compare those words with the passage and keep only the result (which words were right or missed). We do not keep the recording.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising ID or browsing history. There is no advertising and no tracking in the app.
Who processes your data for us
- Supabase hosts your account and your progress.
- Deepgram turns your recitation audio into words while you recite. It does not keep the audio and does not use it to train its models.
They act only on our instructions. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account and all your progress within 30 days.

Children
Children under 18 should use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission, and a parent can ask us to delete a child’s account at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to support@zahab.app. We reply within 30 days. This applies wherever you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU GDPR.
Changes
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches you.
